The first paragraph of this article is bizarre. The most famous? Most everyone was killed by the guillotine?

Yeah, they had to import French people INTO France from Louisiana and Quebec to work the fields. Cracker^talk 17:30, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

Spelling

I've fixed a lot of the words. Have a look through the article to make sure I haven't inadvertently changed any meanings. I think I've used US spellings through out. Hannibal ad portas 20:54, 28 May 2007 (EDT)

Taxes

There were many causes, to put too much emphasis on tax might be an error, as it would be with the American War of Independence. I will add a section on causes at a later date. stevendavy
