I don't think it's quite accurate to associate Goths with anti-religious sentiment, especially as I know people who are associated with Christian Goth ministries that get people to go to church who never would otherwise. I will concede that it's a stereotype, but it's not essential to the identity of being a Goth. DanH 00:37, 18 August 2007 (EDT)

Unsourced

This article is completely unsourced and almost reads like an opinion piece. While the beginning I can live with for now being unsourced; the Christian section was making broad psychological and behavioral attributions towards Goths that need to be sourced in a proper encyclopedia. If you want to add sourced material, that's probably okay. But this material appears to have been written by a Conservative Christian and as such it must be respected. Liberal wishful-thinking is not a reasonable justification for removing material. --RickD 22:03, 5 January 2009 (EST)
If it doesn't cite any sources, it doesn't matter who wrote it. Unless you're in to status worship, that is. No support is given for the claims of "most" this, "most" that throughout the article. The burden of finding evidence is on those who support its conclusion. --KevinS 22:06, 5 January 2009 (EST)
What conclusion? This passage is a description. --RickD 22:08, 5 January 2009 (EST)
The last sentence was merely a generalization. Why did you ignore the whole rest of my comment? --KevinS 22:18, 5 January 2009 (EST)
We run into problems when the article makes statements like most goths are young women, worship vampires, demons, death, their music makes them sad, they like playing RPGs and LARPs and can't stop playing, they are possessed.--Lynus 22:50, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Are Goths a cult?

A cult is a religion seen as spurious. Goth subculture is not a religion, nor is it pretending to be one. Let's have more information on it. --Ed Poor Talk 14:27, 6 January 2009 (EST)
