Talk:Herbert Howells
From Conservapedia
I can do one of several things here:
- I can ignore Markman's pettiness and leave the page as it is now.
- I can delete this petty rule of law insistence and start a war
- I can lie and add a reference book as a reference.
- Or
- I can try and find every record, every CD, every tape or piece of sheet music, remember what my choir master told me about him, what radio announcers have said, what I have read in books and magazines and concert programmes what I just know because I have been singing and listening to and loving his music since I discovered him in 1963 - because that is my citation and it has been accepted by senior Conservapedians as a "best of the public" issue for years.
Quite frankly, apart from looking up dates and spellings, I don't where I got each particular detail.
So, for the peace of the world, I am going to lie and cite what I used for dates. Okay? AlanE 19:37, 5 March 2013 (EST)
- I did cite Grove for the dates, so by deleting it you are interfering with a valid edit. I have put down the first reference I ever had of him, the Saga recording I bought at Bondi Junction in Sydney in 1963 and still own and which has sleeve notes - and the last reference is the CD I was listening to whilst writing the article and whence I got the spelling of “Hymnus circa exsequias defunct”.
- Now go away!AlanE 13:13, 6 March 2013 (EST)
