"River God" literature? AlanE 18:07, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

Ah, c'mon! They'll never speak of Wilbur Smith in the same breath as Dickens or Gogol, but he has a true gift for description. You read one of his novels, and you are really there. He has written some clunkers (A Time to Die), but River God was the best novel he wrote. I actually got interested in Egyptology because of that book, an interest I've kept for the past five years.--Frey 18:24, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

I probably agree. He does tell a good yarn. I felt like a stir, that's all. Cheers. AlanE 18:31, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
