Evolutionists like to claim that Darwinism has no "real" implications, but the fact is that Social Darwinists used it to create Eugenics, one of the justifications for Hitler's mass extermination of Jews; see the Holocaust. --Ed Poor Talk 14:05, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

I think that should be "Social Darwinists mis-used it"! Humblpi 14:30, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
Even if it was true (and evolutionists never seem to state why), it still caused the Holocaust; it still inspired Hitler's wretched idea that eventually led to the Final Solution. Darwin has blood in his hands. WilliamH 15:13, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
Ed, don't you think they might have come up with it anyway? Would you say that Jews were treated just like other groups and never persecuted until OoS was published, and then all heck broke loose? Murray 14:53, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
For example, the First Crusade warmed up by slaughtering Jews before they got anywhere NEAR the Muslims, and that was almost 800 years before Darwin. And blaming science for whacko politics makes as much sense as blaming quantum physics for the New Age folderol that misquotes it. --Gulik5 15:08, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

There's a difference between 'unintelligent' and 'undirected'. Darwin just pointed out a real 'duh' moment in biology: Creatures that survive long enough to reproduce tend to pass their traits on to their children. Nobody knew about DNA back then, but the rest of his theory was rock-solid, or else it would have ended up on the scrap-heap alongside Lamarckian evolution and Spontaneous Generation. --Gulik5 15:08, 8 April 2008 (EDT)
