Patron-client, you mean a feudal society? RobS 11:51, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

This article or section needs to be rewritten, because:
They weren't self-appointed, and it wasn't an official group. The term just means the new Upper Class of Russia who wound up having higher privileges than everyone else.. (Discuss)

They were not democratically elected, it was not a meritocracy, and they did not gain their positions by birthright. It was a self-appointed clique, i.e. "the Party", under Marxist Doctrine. RobS 11:54, 28 April 2007 (EDT) Clarification needed on this in the article. I. e. 'Self-appointed as a result of the October coup d'état, while financially supported by Prussian Imperial General Stuff through Col. Nikolai under advice of Mr. Parvus' - so, the bolos were, effectively, German spys who overthrow the Provisional Government; and - since so called 'Russian Federation' is officially the offspring of late Soviet Union still - the Nomenklatura is still very much in power over there.
