Talk:Paraphrase

I'm going to create a list of paraphrased quotations. I'm getting tired of people saying that Rick never said "Play it again, Sam" (only to discover that only one word is different: it was "Play it, Sam") - which is exaggerating the degree of change. Then there are all the politically motivated distortions. We know Reagan didn't say "trees cause pollution" although he did mention (correctly) that they emit a certain organic compound which is linked to atmospheric haze or smog. And it was Tina Fey (not Sarah Palin) who said she could "see Russia from my house" (a satirical distortion of her actual "see Russia from land here in Alaska" remark. --Ed Poor ^Talk 16:17, 19 August 2011 (EDT)
