Predestination is not unique to John Calvin. It is clearly discussed and defined in scripture. However, the bottom line is we should not get caught up in debating election, some referred to as presestination, or free will. The focus should always be on our love for Christ and accepting his salvation.
It is too hard to ignore scripture when discussing this subject. As Christians, we should follow the great commandment given in Matthew and spread the love of Christ to everyone. I'll let God worry about the predetination/free will issue.
I have corrected the erroneous statement that Predestination was "invented" by Calvin. I also had to clean up the page on John Calvin. Both articles seemed to have been written by someone lacking any kind of firsthand knowledge of Reformed theology. It only underscores the need for students these days to read primary sources and not just text books.
