RINO all of a sudden?

With him now being tagged a RINO, it seems amidst the political grandstanding, no-one listened to what he said, that it all came down to "the Bible’s overarching themes of love and compassion and my belief that we are all children of God." - good, solid, traditional Christian sentiments? Let's hope none of you ever have to deal with the situation he death with graciously and compassionately. Would you prefer he had thrown his son into the street, and never spoke to him again? What would you have had him do, exactly, to avoid the RINO tag? JOBrien 23:08, 15 March 2013 (EDT)

I think a true conservative would follow the example of Ann Coulter and disown a gay child. [1] [2] --DamianJohn 23:34, 15 March 2013 (EDT)

I haven't seen such tag, but I knew it would be coming. If a Republican deviates from the guidelines set by Mr. Schlafly, they're a RINO and thus condemned for being a Cafeteria Conservative. I disagree personally and have more respect people who stick to their own principles not just fall in line with their party like a robot. One can respect a person yet not vote for them lol. This is only respected within Conservapedia when it's a democrat embracing some conservative ideas. I base this opinion on the differences in tone between the RINO page and the Blue Dog Democrats the latter of which are condemned for bowing to the pressure of the party.

By the way, i'm still trying to figure out how do proper signatures with the fancy time date stamps. I assume one doesn't do it manually user:dsherman

This entry now features some perverse contradictions, not an unusual occurrence on Conservapedia. While he is deemed a RINO, he also has the 'Conservatism' template, which contains "Charity • Conservative values • Family values • Free market • Insights • Law • Logic • Movement conservative • Republicanism", among others, all of which now conflict in some way with his entry. Either the template needs to be tweaked, or you need different templates for RINOs, or people of all shades of thought. Unfortunately humans have a habit of not fitting into neat boxes.

BTW, You do the signatures by typing four tildes (the ~ symbol) after your post - or just click on the thing that looks like a signature above the text entry box. --JOBrien 00:48, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

Christianity does not teach that we are all sons of God.[3] Jesus told the Pharisees that their father was the devil. The Apostle Paul wrote that before becoming a Christian, individuals are "children of wrath". So Portman was wrong about this matter. Portman was also wrong in endorsing homosexual "marriage". Being that he worked closely with Mitt Romney, it is not surprising he is a RINO. Abraham Lincoln didn't advocate homosexual marriage. Lincoln converted from skepticism to Christianity (or at the very least theistic rationalism). No true Republican endorses gay marriage! Conservative 05:36, 19 March 2013 (EDT)
No room for dissent or disagreement within the party? And did the topic of Gay Marriage ever come up in Lincoln's time?--DavidS 10:21, 25 March 2013 (EDT)
