Deplural while new?

Could this be moved to Romance language? It makes it easier to write Spanish is a [[romance language]] and French is one of the [[romance language]]s without problem. --Mtur 23:22, 19 April 2007 (EDT)

Done! Mtur, I remember somebody mentioning being a linguist awhile back... was that you? --Hojimachongtalk 23:23, 19 April 2007 (EDT)
I've taken a linguistics class back in college, have background in French and Latin (Catholic Highschool), a smattering of Ancient Greek and a few words in Sanskrit (mostly how they relate to other indo-european languages). I've also cleaned up the links to the plural form, you should be able to delete the redirect without problem now. --Mtur 23:28, 19 April 2007 (EDT)

Largest Branch of IE?

I don't think so. The indo-aryan languages have around 1,000,000,000 speakers (Hindi/Urdu 540 million, Bengali 200 million, Punjabi 100 million, Marathi 70 million, Gujurati 40 million, Nepali 40 million, Sindhi about 20 million, and that's not only the 10 biggest I-A languages, there're about 5 more with over 1,000,000 speakers). Whereas with romance we have Spanish at 450,000,000, Portuguese with about 230 million, French with 75 million, Italian with 60 million, Romanian with 40 million, Cataln with around 10 million, and that's about it.
