This article starts out well enough, but it makes some absurd claims later. If animals had no innate fear of death, they would not survive, and in any case, anyone who has ever been near a frightened animal can attest to the fact that they are capable of feeling fear to a significant extent. I'm going to cut that part out for now, but it can of course be added back in if there is some sort of citation added.
