What a great idea this world history lecture series is! What a challenge it must be to reduce all the history to 14 lectures. My gratitude to the author!

Hittites The section regarding the Hittites has a few inaccuracies. The Hittites were not a "northern Indo-European people," they are not typically categorized as "Aryan" (a term that properly refers to Indo-Iranians), and they are not the ancestors of the Kurds or Persians. --Bertcat 20:44, 16 June 2009 (EDT)

Spartans

It's probably going a bit far to say the Spartans were the finest soldiers in the world. They were definitely the finest heavy infantry in the world but they were a bit of a one-trick pony: they didn't tend to do so well when the enemy could deploy cavalry or light infantry against them, because tehir phalanx was pretty unwieldy. Of course at Thermopylae their skills were exactly what was needed, which is why they did so well. --FindlayT 12:26, 21 September 2011 (EDT)
