Titus Titus Flavius Vespasianus (39-81) was Roman Emperor from 79 to 81 A.D. Taking over the crushing of the Judean revolt for his father Vespian who left and became Emperor in 70, it was Titus who defeated the Jews and destroyed their temple in 70. In Jerusalem, he married Berenice of Cilicia, the sister of King Herod. He was responsible for many architectural achievements during his tenure, including the Colosseum and the Arch of Titus.
