Tony Phyrillas

Tony Phyrillas is a leading conservative columnist and blogger based in Pennsylvania.

A veteran newspaperman with 25 years experience as a reporter, editor and columnist,[1] Phyrillas received a first place award in 2007 for Best Opinion Column from Suburban Newspapers of America for a series of columns on reforming state government.[2]

He was also recognized for column writing in 2007 by the Society of Professional Journalists, Keystone Chapter,[3] and in 2006 by the Society of Professional Journalists, Greater Philadelphia Chapter.

Phyrillas was named one of the Most Influential Political Bloggers in Pennsylvania by in June 2007.[4]

Odyssey: The World of Greece magazine named Phyrillas, a native of Cyprus, one of the leading Greek-American bloggers in the world in February 2007.[5]

A graduate of Penn State University, Phyrillas is the city editor and political columnist for The Mercury, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning daily newspaper in Pottstown, Pa.[6]
