Uncertainty and the Bible
Uncertainty Acknowledged by Jesus
Jesus acknowledged at least three matters of uncertainty:
- random tragedies that inflict harm on innocent victims
- whether God would intervene to spare Jesus from the Passion.
- when the end of the world will occur, unknown even to Jesus.
Uncertainty of worldly possessions
At 1 Timothy 6:17 in modern translations a contrast is drawn between the "uncertainty of riches" and the certitude of God's benevolence to those who place their faith in Him.
