United States presidential election, 1860

The 1860 election was hotly divided between North and South over the issue of slavery. The Republican party nominated the Southern-hated, Abraham Lincoln. The south was divided in it's choice for a candidate. The Democrats split up and another party called the Constitutional Union all put up candidates for the presidency. No southerner voted for Lincoln. The results showed:
