My name is Chris, and I teach Bible Study Classes at my Church in Illinois, and know a lot about the Bible and the religious scholars who comment on it. I know the Bible really well, so if you need help with it let me know!
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
When I first came to this site I thought it would be a great way to spread a truer understanding of the Bible. I have somewhat lost confidence in this, though. Everyone on the site seems to be endlessly fighting and there seem to be clever vandals dedicated to destroying it. So I'm not sure yet.
Also, I wanted to make clear some peoples misconceptions about me. Some people on this site seem to think I'm a total wing nut just because I am a Biblical literalist and read the Bible. This is not true. I believe every word of the Bible to be literal truth, yes, but I also like to hear counter arguments, even if I don't agree with them.
Also, although I distrust and generally do not like "liberals" I am in fact a union member and a Democrat, although this is a very unpopular thing to be among some conservatives. So I'm used to being disliked. I think true Biblical literalists should all be Democrats. You can ask me why on my talk page if you want. I think I am much more a true conservative than most any Republican, and am proud of it!
If I remain on this site my mission will be twofold: To fully teach the Bible to people who do not understand it, even if they are Christian and to make the opinions of the Bible known and represented, but also to fight back at Biblical revisionists who want to pick and chose from the Bible what they like!
I've just started reading the Bible, and I like the parts I can understand, but the parts I don't understand sound important. Maybe you can help me interpret them sometime! User:Bobtexas 01:55, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
