I came to this site with high hopes for finding a collaborative editing environment that was not skewed towards agnosticism. What I found instead was a community that exists for the sole purpose of attacking its ideological opponents, rather than attempting to educate its readers. I have seen sysops block users for their ideology, I've seen the 90/10 rule used as a club, and I've seen sysops use their rights to participate in edit-warring. Despite this, I have attempted to contribute to the factual content of the articles I came across; I challenge anyone to demonstrate that my edits have not been for the betterment of the encyclopedia. But given the continued attacks on Barrack Obama (who, for the record, I do not support), I find that I can no longer contribute in good conscience. Continued attempts to portray him as a Muslim wolf in Christian clothing are unconscionable and indefensible.
Conservapedia currently seems to be the laughingstock of the internet. I came here hoping to help change that. But if the community continues on this path, this site will never emerge as a viable educational resource beyond its narrow-minded core users. If attitudes here change, I will gladly come back. Until then, the actions of user:aschlafly and others makes me ashamed to call myself a homeschooler.
Hi, I'm a Master's student in Texas. I was homeschooled for 12 years, and wouldn't have traded my education for anything.
