Welcome

I look forward to working with you. I am not ready to work on intelligent design material though for at least 10 days. Conservative 17:12, 8 June 2007 (EDT)

I Saw a Answers In Genesis show this weekend on ID

I Saw a Answers In Genesis show this weekend on ID. Dr. Georgia Purdom was the speaker. She was quite informative and gave the pros and cons of the ID movement. For example, she explained Dembski's Explanatory filter.

Here is an article by Dr. Purdom that may be helpful: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/wow/is-idm-christian

One of the things she discussed was Dysteleology and intelligent design. By the way, speaking of dysteleology Dr. Bergman has a nice article on pathogenenic viruses in regards to creationism: http://www.trueorigin.org/virus.asp

Dr. Purdom stated that there were a variety of views within the ID and she seemed to like Phillip Johnson the best in regards to the ID movement and she quoted something favorable Johnson had said in regards to Genesis. If memory serves and it may not she quoted the following from Johnson: "The more frustrating thing has been the Christian leaders and pastors, especially Christian college and seminary professors. The problem is not just convincing them that the theory is wrong, but that it makes a difference. What's at stake isn't just the first chapter of Genesis, but the whole Bible from beginning to end, and whether or not nature really is all there is."[1]

Also, here are other key articles from the creationist camp regarding ID:

As per our conversation i renamed your workspace

As per our conversation I renamed the file so you can edit in peace better and avoid vandals. The new name for the file is User:Freedom777/workspace1 By the way, I may ask the director of the site to give you blocking privilidges which will enable you to block vandals without having to become an administrator (Admins can edit protected articles that the general editors cannot edit and Admins can protect articles as well). I hope I didn't confuse you and

I hope I didn't confuse you by renaming the files. Also, I don't pretend to be a lawyer or legislator but it appears to me as if the "legal issue" should be mentioned in regards to the chance of getting "pro-creationist" material into public schools and universities vs. the chance of getting pro-ID material into public schools and universities. Dr. Johnson has legal expertise if I am not mistaken and perhaps he was chosen to publically speak on this issue but on the other hand maybe he is keeping his card close to his vest. Fair use

You state that your images are fair use, but provide no further info. Can you please state where they come from when you upload them so that this can be more easily verified? Thanks. DanH 13:55, 31 December 2007 (EST)
