A former sysop on Conservapedia(2007), I am a person who refuses to look at anything through the eyes of any political affiliation. I live based on logic and reason, and my actions will reflect this as I find it appropriate to do so. I am a Canadian, currently training to become a chef. I am also an "amateur historian", with my primary interest being in contemporary international political and military history.
Alongside these, I'm laying out my views and am happy to discuss/debate issues/politics/beliefs on my talk page.
I believe that the single most important job of government is to create the highest amount of happiness, for the highest number of citizens, for the longest period of time. This may require initially unpopular decisions to be made in order to ensure a good payoff later on.
On social issues, I often tend to be somewhat of a leftist. I believe in equality for all regardless of anything.
I believe that the military of every nation should be predominantly defensive and isolationist, however a small branch for offensive action should be kept in case of necessary peacekeeping work or intervention in international situations that could have lasting effects on the history of the entire planet.
I believe in the idea of a powerful Navy/Air Force over land-based military organisations.
I believe that it should be the right of any citizen of any country to own non-automatic firearms, as long as thy're willing to undergo a criminal background check, and a psychological evaluation, and are over the age of 21.
I do not support Barack Obama. He has been a general disappointment. However, I also do not support any of the current front-runners in the Republican Party or Ron Paul. If he had a shot though, I would gladly support Buddy Roemer(R) if I were a citizen of the USA.
I believe that, regardless of whether or not Global Warming is fact or fiction, we need to start to really move away from Coal and Oil as the primary sources of energy.
I believe in a fair, flat Federal Income Tax of 9% for all citizens regardless of their financial standing, or "class".
I believe in States' Rights unless there is a clear conflict of interest between either said state and it's citizens, or the Federal Government.
I believe politicians should be paid a low salary in order to root out those who go into politics for their own personal gain instead of the needs of the citizens they represent.
I believe that the position of President/Prime Minister/Chancellor/etc. should be an unpaid position.
I believe that Political lobbying should be outlawed, and that corporations are not people.
I believe in Capitalism and a mostly free market, with regulations in place only to prevent banks and corporations from taking advantage of consumers. However, I also believe that there is a point where one should be able to say, "I have enough", there is a such thing as having or taking too much, which I call "SuperCapitalism".
I am Agnostic, however I have great respect for religious institutions, and recognize their right to exist, and the necessity of it.
I believe there should be a clear separation of Church and State. Regardless of the religion involved, history has shown that a nation based on the laws of any religion is a less free state than one based on Secular laws.
