Out of the Silent Planet

Out of the Silent Planet and That Hideous Strength are two of my favorite books. (For some reason I've never liked Perelandra). Thank you for starting the article. I hope you don't mind if I add to it. Dpbsmith 15:59, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

"I am glad you have added to my article. I enjoy people adding more information to articles. Particularly articles that I have added to or created. Thank you for adding to this article. User:Additioner 11:07, 1 April 2007

Great entries

Thanks for your great entries! For your footnotes to show up, add a "references" section with this: <references/ > (without the space inside the brackets). I'll do this now for your Mondale entry.--Aschlafly 16:46, 5 April 2007 (EDT)

Nice Jefferson picture. --Ed Poor 13:40, 12 April 2007 (EDT)

I didn't do the Jefferson picture, it was done by User:Jaques. --User:Additioner 16:44, 13 April 2007

Book cover art

If you're going to upload a book cover, make sure you state for the record that such an image is intended for use in illustrating the book in question. A book's cover design is under copyright that belongs to the publisher--but using the book cover to illustrate a review of that book is fair use. An encyclopedia entry about a book qualifies as an extended review, and therefore you may fairly use the cover art to illustrate the article. But: you must specify your reasons for the upload in case the publisher runs across the image and wants to know where it came from and how we're using it.--TerryHTalk 16:57, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

Thank you for warning me about that. I will do this in the future. --User:Additioner 16:59, 13 April 2007

Question

Hello, thanks for the table on the 2000 presidential election. One question, I seem to be getting 271-266 for the electoral vote. Would it be possible for you to check this and perhaps cite where you are getting the results? The article needs some citations. Thank you. bd Talk 18:33, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

I was going to do this. I'll see what's wrong with this post haste. -Additioner 18:40, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

When I looked at it I gave a reference, but strangely I didn't see the electoral vote say 271-266. I'm sorry but I don't see it on the page. -Additioner 18:44, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

No problem. Thanks for the refernece. It makes it look better. Keep up the good work. bd Talk 18:47, 10 June 2007 (EDT)

Presidential Elections

Hey maybe you can make more of these, just for every election.--Will N. 15:14, 15 June 2007 (EDT)

That is exactly what I'm doing. -Additioner 15:15, 15 June 2007 (EDT)

O ok cool. :)--Will N. 15:17, 15 June 2007 (EDT)

Would you like to use the table form that I put in the 2000 election? If the source you are using provides those figures (percentages), then I believe it would be a good addition for the people checking up the page. Thanks Learn together 12:02, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

Thanks, I'd love to do that. -Additioner 12:11, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

Great! Looking forward to seeing it. ;-) Learn together 14:47, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

Oh, Well I'm afraid I don't have the percentages that go with it. Whoops. Sorry. -Additioner 14:55, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

I just wanted to say

Bravo for working to shorten the "Wanted Pages" list! I greatly appreciate the effort!--Elamdri 21:17, 23 June 2007 (EDT)

To Additioner

I forgot that I am not to openly write people about what I wrote. However, I would encourage you to read what wrote as you do a lot of volunteer work for Conservapedia and I would like as many people to read your material as possible. I wanted to send you a private email about it but your email is disabled. Conservative 18:44, 29 July 2007 (EDT)

I never put my e-mail up. I have tried to confirm my e-mail address, which is listed correctly on my preferences page, but never receive the message in my mailbox. -Additioner 12:14, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

Template

Maybe you could make the template, and provide a link to it? I am not getting what it is you want to do...sorry for being "dense" about this..... --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 05:14, 25 August 2007 (EDT)

Here is what I am trying to do with this Template. I am trying to make something at the bottom of the screen so that anyone can directly go to any past presidential election. -Additioner 13:26, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Categories

Please stop any tinkering with them! You can use the link on my user page to the sandbox talk about them to make suggestions. --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 14:35, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Oh, OK. -Additioner 14:37, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

  • What was the point of restoring US Senators, and adding the re-direct to United States Senators? There wasn't anything in it, or linking to it. --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 15:02, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Well, because I was having trouble from time to time finding A Category with the Senators. That Category used to be there I thought it would help people find what they're looking for easier. If you don't like it you can change it.-Additioner 15:07, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

  • It is rather straight-forward. The proper category was created: United States Senators, and over that, United States Senate, preceded by United States Congress which is preceded by United States Elected Officials, United States Government and at the top, United States of America. Does that seem more logical than what we had? --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 15:14, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

From what you're saying I can believe you're right. I'm just explaining what I did at the time. -Additioner 15:17, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

  • Additioner, would you please try to at least read our Manual of Style and other postings before just proceeding to install links, like you are used to on some other wiki? You are going to force me to block you and/or delete many pages if you continue. We use Title Case here, so articles would be "United States Presidential Election, 1896 not the manner you keep using! Your links should not be merely the year 1896, but say, in the article, "Presidential Election of 1896". Is there some reasonable explanation for your continued failure to communicate? --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 15:58, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Please understand that Additioner is 14yo, and is learning the ropes as he goes. Your patience in instructing him would be appreciated. In my opinion, instructions have not been the clearest nor easiest to find around the site, other than the '10 commandments'. Everyone has a learning curve, and he is not intentionally trying to create rework for others. He will not create more links until he had read the manual of style further. Additioner's parent.

  • Thanks for informing! Additioner has a great body of contributions, it is just that we are in the process of logically ordering categories, and the give-and-take on talk pages is a part of that process, and of learning....for all of us, actually. Without feedback, we have no way of judging intentions, as I am sure you can understand. Most of the 13-15 year olds here are head and shoulders above me in technical abilities, and wiki knowledge, so that learning curve cuts both ways, lol. --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 16:22, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

American Civil War additions

I moved the chronology table you had made from American Civil War to American Civil War: Aftermath, as it really is more like a summary, which belongs towards the end. But still, the tables you have made, and I hope continue to make, are important for the articles. Perhaps you could improve the main article's info box, with accurate info as to who led in the war during that particular year. Perhaps you could add a table in the Aftermath page that lists the worst battles fought, with casualty listings, or go into the various articles about the individual battles and improve the info boxes on each one. Richard M Johnson

I was bouncing around and noticed what I think is a spelling error. I do not have the source material, and as you are quoting a specific source, I don't want to change it if the error is inherent in the original material. In the Richard M. Johnson you have the slogan as "Rumphsey Dumpsey, Colonal Johnson killed Tecumseh." From looking at other online sources, I believe that Rumphsey should be Rumpsey and Colonel is misspelled. It would not be a shock, however, for a slogan from the 1800's to have a non-traditional spelling, so I will leave it up to you. Boomcoach 16:00, 21 October 2008 (EDT)

You are absolutely right. I'm sorry, when I checked my source materials I found I had accidentally copied it out incorrectly. You've fixed it into the correct version. Thank you, and good catch. --Additioner 20:25, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
