vandal spree -- whew! I never expected to be in the middle of that!

Thanks. I was wondering whether I should revert my own page again, or just continue cleaning up older pages that he wouldn't notice. Of course, it's much better with people who have the sysop tools to do mass reverts. And get past captchas, and, above all, block that guy. JudyJ 21:50, 29 December 2012 (EST)

Trying to muddle through this. Is it possible for me to change my User Name and add that last initial? CowboyBob 20.00, 18 January 2013 (EST)

Welcome back

I am sure you realise that I have stuck my neck out for you somewhat. I hope you don't make me look a fool. --DamianJohn 04:49, 18 February 2013 (EST)

Warning

As I wrote in the block summary I just gave you "I'm giving [you] only a symbolic block since I don't want to go over yesteday all over again." With that being said you really out to watch your words. Keep in mind that Andy holds you responsible for yesterday's debacle, and if you continue with your divisive ways your days here are numbered. - Markman 15:05, 28 February 2013 (EST)

Please

You are really on thin ice at the moment. I know you were making a reasonable point to Conservative, but you need to tone it down a bit. You need to watch the way you talk to people because there are concerns that you are continually right on the borderline between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour. The civility rules here are somewhat stricter than you will find at most other websites and we would all appreciate it if you took them a bit more seriously. --DamianJohn 17:04, 3 March 2013 (EST)

Enforcement of the site's rules

What you must understand is that sysops and editors with blocking rights are not capable of seeing everything that happens here. Just like with every other set of rules, enforcement is always going to be incomplete. However, the level of enforcement grows the more people decide to report wrongdoings. There's a better chance that whoever mugged you might get caught if you report him to the police. Likewise, if anybody engages in disruptive editing, report him to one of the editors with blocking rights. There's one caveat though: my ability to handle other editors with blocking rights is limited, as they are of the same ranks as mine and can also revert whatever block I will give them. If you see an editor with blocking rights engages in a gross violation of the rules, refer to Andy or one the admins. - Markman 11:25, 4 March 2013 (EST)

One more clarification. DamianJohn seems to think that users can act with incivility toward Conservative as much as they like due to him supposedly engaging in incivility. I'll copy what I posted on DJ talk page in regards to this line of thinking: "I don't read every edit Conservative makes so I don't know if there are any instances of him breaking civility laws. However, even if he does break it, this does not justify others doing the same. Incivility generally disrupts whatever productive conversation is going on, is against site's rules, and it's not like anything will happen to the editor/s that are being treated with incivility if they'll simply ignore it. Incivility is not excusable even when carried against previous incivility."

If you think someone is engaging in incivility toward you, you are allowed to talk to to editors with blocking rights about it. Engaging in retaliatory incivility is out of the question. - Markman 16:10, 4 March 2013 (EST)

Please note

Please note that if you continue to post comments to me on the main page talk page without responding to this material your days as an editor here could abruptly end. Thank you.

In addition, I am not a fan of the Conservative Bible Project. With that being said, I would not count on your strategy of editing the Conservative Bible Project and Conservapedia debates being a viable strategy of editing from now on.

If you are going to edit at this wiki, consider creating a significant amount of substantive articles. Conservative 19:08, 8 May 2013 (EDT)

Probationary period if you choose to edit after 3 month block

Please note: If you decide to return after your 3 month block, there will be a 3 month probationary period where you will not have main page talk privileges. In the meantime, you can work on fully responding to my rejoinder should you want to post to me on the main page talk page again. Conservative 20:00, 8 May 2013 (EDT)
