Template list
You've made a couple of new templates that you've done a good job of providing documentation for, but which I don't think you've added to the template list. Is that correct? Philip J. Rayment 09:11, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
- Yes, sorry; updated list now
Fox (talk|contribs) 07:26, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- So, you are sticking with your {{Prime Minister}} template. I don't see the point of two different ones. How do we decide which to keep and which to ditch? Philip J. Rayment
- I'd started the Prime Minister one, hacking the President template, without realising you were also making one :/ I like the layout of {{Prime Minister}}, particularly as it is uniform with {{President}} but it needs to have its innards chopped out to remove Vice President, although I had been thinking what other positions could be used there instead - deputy PM? Chancellor? - or similar. I put it all on the backburner while the contest was on though :(
Fox (talk|contribs) 08:12, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- I prefer the coding of {{PM}} over {{Prime Minister}}, but I've no preference as far as appearance is concerned.
- I'm not sure that Deputy PM is as relevant as Vice President. In Australia, at the moment at least, the Treasurer seems to be the next most important person after the PM; you hardly hear boo from the Deputy PM, but that might well be due to the coalition arrangement in force, I guess. I think I'd be happy to not show any category for a second person.
- An advantage of {{PM}} is that the term and succession details are separate and there can be unlimited multiples very simply, which I don't think President nor Prime Minister cater for.

army
Fox, should we link to the US army on the army page? Do you think it is wise and/or feasible to add a list of armies to the army article? And congratulations on your sysopship. Bohdan 17:06, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks :) Hm, yes, a linking list of armies with their own articles would be a good idea, I think. There aren't a great many of note that are worth writing about, but those that are deserve their own article, and have sufficient differences in organization, culture, equipment and so on.

Moving
I guess I'll start moving all the ship pages...just a few questions. First, all we're doing it going to the page and pressing the "Move" button, then renaming it? And second, the "AM-136" numbers (obviously they're not all the same)...where are you getting them from? Thanks! DeborahB. 19:33, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
- Hi :) The new names are on the lists Mtur drew up here; copy the new name, click on the original article, then Move, then paste the new name in the Move box.
Fox (talk|contribs) 19:36, 13 July 2007 (EDT)
- Thank you for acting on moving these pages. I do know it is a significant amount of work to fix. I hope that going forward that these pages are correctly named so this doesn't need to be revisited. --Mtur 20:39, 13 July 2007 (EDT)

I can't believe it!! It took me a while to catch on...at first I thought it was a good editor who was interested in doing edits...but then I looked carefully and noticed that he wasn't fixing them, he was messing them up. My question is how was he doing it so quickly? DeborahB. 19:07, 14 July 2007 (EDT)

Fox (talk|contribs) 19:08, 14 July 2007 (EDT)

- Wow...well at least it was stopped before it messed up even more pages! DeborahB. 19:52, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
Leviticus
1 Corinthians 10:23-26, in which Paul directs followers to "eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience"
Leviticus 11:9-11 " 'Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales. But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales—whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water—you are to detest. And since you are to detest them, you must not eat their meat and you must detest their carcasses. Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you. SquashMonster 18:41, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- Careful exegesis of that entire section of Scripture reveals the issue to be different from what you seem to be assuming: in 1 Corinthians 8 Rabbi Shaul is discussing "the eating of things offered to idols" This is because meat was often sacrificed on pagan altars and dedicated to pagan gods, then later this same meat was offered for sale in the public meat markets. Some Christians wondered if it were morally right for Christians to eat such meat that had previously been sacrificed to pagan gods. Instead, the controversy dealt with the conscience of each believer. Rabbi Shaul explained that "an idol is nothing" (1 Corinthians 8:4), clarifying that it was permissible to eat meats that had been sacrificed to an idol. That an animal had been sacrificed to a pagan god had no bearing on whether the meat was suitable for food. Rabbi Shaul continued: "However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; for some, with consciousness of the idol, until now eat it as a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. But food does not commend us to G-d; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse" (verses 7-8). When a believer bought meat in the market or was invited to a meal at which meat was served, it was not necessary to determine whether anyone had offered it to an idol, said Shaul (1 Corinthians 10:25-27). His concern was that the brethren be considerate of others who believed differently. He taught that in such cases it was better for them not to eat meat than to risk causing offense (1 Corinthians 8:13; 10:28). The question of meat sacrificed to idols was a considerable controversy in New Testament times. It is the foundation of many of Rabbi Saul’s discussions of Christian liberty and conscience. Unlike G-d’s law of clean and unclean animals, which was straightforwardly recorded in the Tanakh, the Hebrew Scriptures do not discuss the matter of food offered to idols. But, in the first-century world of the New Testament, this issue varied in significance and importance to members according to their conscience and understanding.

Breast Exam
Fox, why do you keep undoing my additions [2] to this article. Alll the facts are well-known and fully authenticated over in the Abortion article? I think it's important that women know not only what a breast exam is, but why they should go for one - and what makes them more susceptible to a cancer. Maybe you'd like to explain your undoing, and now blocking of this article? DoggerelBank 21:24, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
- The article is about breast examination; it is not specifically about Gynecology or Oncology. The article as last edited by Aschlafly seems more than adequate. I blocked it to prevent your reversion of my edits.
Fox (talk|contribs) 21:29, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
Well, what on earth are they examining FOR? The article makes absolutely no reference to cancer, but merely mentions 'abnormalities' and 'early detection'. Detection of what?!!! What is the PURPOSE of this procedure, but to identify possible cancers? And meanwhile, the Abortion article establishes that it causes breast cancers, but doesn't link to this article, i.e. tell a woman what to do about it? DoggerelBank 21:32, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
You don't seem so keen to add:
- Heredity
- Diet
- Alcohol
- Obesity
- Hormones
- Tobacco
- Radiation exposure
- Environmental estrogenic mimics
- Dioxins
- Deodorants
- Fertility treatments
- Phytoestrogens
I take it that you have an agenda all of your own, in that case. And its not necessarily a good one

- Doggerel, I agree with Fox 100%. Time for you to move on to other valuable contributions, as I know you want to make, that wouldn't be so opposite our CP Commandments and Guidelines. You can understand that here, in the US, it is considered polite to ask before just taking over what another has been doing? I am speaking of the Daily Quote. I haven't said anything since the contest, but its becoming annoying. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 05:11, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
- So, you just bully and then insult? Try it with someone else, Fox. You pushed in during the contest, never expressing any interest in it before, simply because you didn't like your block being reverted. Kindly grow up and end your pettiness. We have been here before with your several resignations when angered. I haven't been adding Bible quotes, simply out of respect that you took that over some time ago. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 05:45, 20 July 2007 (EDT)
Pot, kettle, black. Its your constant bullying, unilateral "I AM THE LAW!" approach (even when you are completely wrong), snide comments, insults and pettiness that drag this place down. I would appreciate your support
Dear FOX,
I am sending you a note about the uncited template and how it can substantially increase web traffic to Conservapedia.
The Conservapedia article on homosexuality is now ranked in the top 10 of http://www.google.com searches. I estimate that the Conservapedia article on homosexuality is giving 300-400 people new people a day to know about Conservapedia who wouldn't otherwise know about it. When the article is in the top 5 of the search engine rankings it will bring in SUBSTANTIALLY more as the top 5 entries get the lion's share of the internet traffic.
Now a main reason why the Conservapedia homosexuality article is ranked in the top 10 is that the search engines highly reward articles with footnotes that link to other internet websites. Accordingly, since our uncited template is successful in getting people to cite their material as Andy Schlafly stated, I made note of the uncited template in the following Conservapedia articles:
Conservapedia:Commandments: http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservapedia:Commandments
Conservapedia Manual of Style: http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservapedia:Manual_of_Style
Conservapedia:Footnotes - technical help http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservapedia:Footnotes_-_technical_help
Currently about 50% of Conservapedia articles are completely uncited and a high percentage of articles that are cited are poorly cited. If this persist, not many people are going to know about Conservapedia as our articles will be poorly ranked by the search engines. However, I strongly believe that the uncited template will make a substantial difference.
Accordingly, I would appreciate your efforts in supporting the uncited template.
