Hi, Interested in helping in the Main Page? --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 09:46, 8 December 2007 (EST)

Article of the month needs to be updated. I am planing a team to select articles and update it. May be each week. Andy has to approve it. Interested? --User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 10:33, 8 December 2007 (EST)
The reply from Mr. Schlafly was this:
Sounds like a fantastic idea, Joaquin! I'm all for it.
First thing we have to do is to make a list of featured articles, then select the best ones. We can start now.
--User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 13:17, 13 December 2007 (EST)

Would you mind putting your contributions of Mexican cities in the Mexico category? That would really be good.Богдан Talk 21:36, 31 May 2007 (EDT)

Agreement....

I agree completely with your statement on the Main Page talk. My post there concerned nothing about the article on the main page, or the caption, which I should have caught, but didn't. I rarely look at the Main Page. :-( I have lived for extended periods of time in many areas of the UK, and know and respect the bravery and fortitude of the people there. So much so, on one trip, I brought myself back a Finne! --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 06:29, 15 June 2007 (EDT)

Just to let you know, the offensive quotes you removed around the word people were the product of a disgusting vandal. Bohdan 00:48, 11 July 2007 (EDT)

Research

Please look up the references for the {{fact}} template you put on the European Discovery of America. You should be able to google it easily. --Ed Poor Talk 08:33, 19 July 2007 (EDT)

Maestro, as Ed advised to you above, I have noticed you like to go to articles and add "fact" tags:

Later, other editors go and add references:

PETA

Grizzly bear

Instead of adding these "fact" tags to articles, it would be more helpful if you found the desired reference and added it to the respective article. --Crocoite 16:28, 26 December 2007 (EST)

Brent Hartinger

The author of Gay children's books isn't something I think is family-friendly or appropriate for CP. It smacks of Liberal deceit your failing to mention that in the article. Whay say you? --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 16:42, 8 August 2007 (EDT)

Larry Craig

Did he actually resign (as in, leaving office immediately) - or did he "resign effective September 30" (meaning he is still in office)? --Ed Poor Talk 19:45, 3 September 2007 (EDT)

  • Ed Poor, he did not resign "immediately". "Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig announced a short time ago that he will leave office Sept. 30. --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 21:27, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
  • Okay, I fixed it. Maestro 09:07, 4 September 2007 (EDT)

Debate Topics?

It has now been three days since you found it important enough to post on the Main Page talk that it was "locked". If you could provide a link, I would appreciate it. Otherwise I will chalk it up to normal trolling, and not remedy the "situation". --şŷŝôρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 05:08, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

School shooting

Yes, I realized you agree with me, I was responding to the other guy's comments, not yours. You should mention in the discussion that you are a public school teacher and explain that kids are, in fact, taught the difference between right and wrong. I would even suggest that, given your experience, you should edit or at least suggest some edits to the public school article. --BillOhannity 16:32, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

  • If he can hold that wicked tongue of his, I wouldn't mind at all. However when you people decide to get nasty, I am compelled, by forces beyond my control, to prove I can out-snark you. I think we all know where that leads to. --şŷŝôρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 16:35, 10 October 2007 (EDT)

Pre-Orders?

Are the taking pre orders on that book? :p --şŷŝôρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 00:24, 11 October 2007 (EDT)

Congratulations

Congratulations on the novel! I'm sure it's a better read than the aeronautical journals I've had to read up on lately in my research. Those fluid dynamicists know nothing about setting the mood and building suspense.--BillOhannity 01:00, 11 October 2007 (EDT)

Cat Stevens claim

Haha, thanks. I doubt you'll be going for Kansas on November 24, though. Hopefully, I will be there at Arrowhead. DanH 17:50, 7 November 2007 (EST)

This is where I got the info from: [2], and yes, I'm booting you for a week for making false accusations. Karajou 17:25, 14 November 2007 (EST)

You also may want to re-think your own use of deceit if and when you get back; I blocked your sock "Monitor", who just so happened to pitch in on the Deceit talk page a few days ago. Karajou 17:51, 14 November 2007 (EST)

Colin

Yes, Colin farrell :) But it is most worthy i assure you. I hope to assist the budding carpenters.

Poe edit - Gold Bug

You linked the story Gold-Bug to another page of the same name. That page has nothing to do with the Poe story. I will wait a little while before reverting the edit, in case you were planning to add something to the Gold Bug page. If you have a reason why I shouldn't revert, let me know. Don't want to start an edit war. Boomcoach 08:40, 13 December 2007 (EST)

Chevy Chase

Hi Maestro,

I'm sorry but for the time being I removed the banning from SNL assertion until it is sourced. I made the mistake of adding yesterday some "controversial" info, regarding Chase, before adding a source and someone called me on it. I have now added the sources.

Once you have the source please re-add the information. Perhaps you can change the heading "Controversial Beliefs" to just "Controversies." Dwain 13:02, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Yeah, I've heard people on TV say that he's a jerk. Dwain

[Citation Needed] tags

I add[Citation Needed] tags when I find something that I don't believe is actually true. I've been banned from here too many times to risk deleting conservative statements of dubious veracity. I've been temporarily banned for fixing the spelling of someone the sysops didn't like. Karaju banned me for a week when I pointed out he'd directly copied a huge article from another web site and didn't source it. Editing here is like a minefield. Change someone's pet article and you're gone. I'd rather play it safe and still get to edit. (Yeah, yeah, the bears article wasn't political, but it was the holidays). Cheers. Maestro 17:19, 26 December 2007 (EST)

You said "I add[Citation Needed] tags when I find something that I don't believe is actually true." If you don't believe the statement is actually true, do a Google search of the statement and find out for yourself. I didn't really know about the hybrid bears either, but I learned something when I did the search and added the reference for Conservapedia. Adding a reference for an existing statement is not likely to get you banned, but deleting the statement will likely cause problems. What you're actually doing by adding fact tags, is making work for other editors, instead of helping improve the articles yourself. --Crocoite 23:17, 26 December 2007 (EST)
I haven't added a fact tag in days, but I'm still catching hell for it. So you're telling me that if I find an untrue statement, even a conservative one, research it, find no proof, and delete it in good faith, then I won't get blocked? I've been blocked too many times for removing untrue statements, or statements only backed up by someone's personal blog. I'm just trying to play by the rules here. Maestro 16:59, 29 December 2007 (EST)
Don't reply to this post on my user page - Conversations are easier to read if they stay on one page. If I leave a message on your talk page, please respond here; I'm watching it.
You said, I'm just trying to play by the rules here. Stop trying to justify what you're doing. Like I said in the warning below, you need to stop deleting statements you disagree with. Next time, you will be blocked. --Crocoite 21:54, 29 December 2007 (EST)

I think my presence here is causing too many people stress, myself included. I'm going to take a hiatus from editing for a bit. Good luck with the project, and be sure and buy my book when it comes out this July! Maestro 23:41, 30 December 2007 (EST)

Warning

This is a warning to you Maestro. I'm going to be watching you closely, and if I see any more examples of you adding[Citation Needed] tags or deleting statements instead of adding the source yourself, you will be blocked. As LearnTogether said, "Did you look? It was easy to find multiple additional references with even a rudimentary search. Our goal here is not to remove truth under a technicality." [3] In the Research section above, I mentioned the need for you to do this research yourself. Since you are a librarian, I expect you to find the sources yourself. --Crocoite 15:13, 29 December 2007 (EST)

I agree. There have been quite a few times where a user has put in such a tag, or complained about lack of sources; I was able to find those sources in under two minutes and post them, as well as demand to know why that user couldn't do it himself. The purpose is to build an encyclopedia. It won't get done by inserting tags where constructive edits and source material needs to be. Karajou 15:21, 29 December 2007 (EST)
