Haha, well, better the page be about McCarthy than a giant goatse image right?--Elamdri 19:39, 19 March 2007 (EDT)
Oh, sorry, I just didn't see a reason to clutter it up with my comments. Sry!--Elamdri 20:30, 19 March 2007 (EDT)

Hello Myk! niandra 15:14, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Nice catch on the paintball entry. I completely missed that. ColinR 16:00, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

That's a tough call. I've always known them as markers, and I think that they were actually called markers since being developed, as they were used to "mark" objects. ColinR 16:13, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

Yes it is fair and balanced. At least it's moreso than Wikipedia. Scorpionman 17:21, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

My mistake, i should have called them markers. i am an avid paintballer myself and thought it would be worth it to put up an article on something i love so much, and make it a free time project. thanks though, i will change it or at least make an edit.--Goose 12:25, 16 March 2007 (EDT)

Thanks for you help; check out my talk page for the transcript of the discussion I had with Mr. Schlafly. Palmd001 16:27, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

regarding this, do you mean like a project (a group of editors working together to improve a series of articles) or a manual of style (a set of guidelines regarding naming conventions, what quote/citation templates to use, etc.)? If it's a project, create the page Conservapedia:Conservaprojects/Politicians. If you want to make a manual of style, create the page Conservapedia:Manual of Style/Politicians. Questions? I'll be on in 20 mins. Thanks, --Hojimachongtalk 15:34, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

I've done quite a bit of adding to medical material. If you have the time or desire, would you consider cleaning up my articles? Thanks, Pete Palmd001 16:44, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

Fox News Channel

Thank you for bringing that to my attention! I have moved the Fox News article to its proper name, Fox News Channel, and have deleted the copied material. ~ SharonS Talk! 18:44, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

Great Depression

I have started the page. Maybe you would like to take a crack at the remaining headers, yet undone, and then we can go back over it all, in discussion there, about any changes needed? --TK 23:50, 17 March 2007 (EDT)

Re:Your message

I archived the Abuse page because it was becoming a mess. Sorry about archiving your message, i honestly didn't see it was active. In regard to Pwaynes, some of his edits are good, others are vandalism.
Vandalism

The others are iffy. There is a preponderance to use as grounds for a ban. thanks for bringing this to my attention and being viligant. Geo. 01:35, 18 March 2007 (EDT)

Sam Brownback

You did a superb job expanding and cleaning up the Sam Brownback page. It's kinda funny we butted heads editing today. LOL. Kudos for a job well done. Let's make Conservapedia the premier encyclopedia of knowledge! --Bob Arctor 02:34, 18 March 2007 (EDT)

Thanks

Yeah...thanx :) Vimescarrot 17:28, 19 March 2007 (EDT)

== Clean Up ==

You've raised an interesting point. The other day, I rearranged my report binders at work so that January is at the back, and December at the front. That way the old stuff is at the back, and you don't have to sift through the old stuff to get to the new stuff. Pages get torn that way. I know that there is no issue with that online, but it would make more sense to have the new stuff at the top. You could maintain chronological order, but each topic would push successive topics down. --TrueGrit 00:42, 20 March 2007 (EDT)

I think that's a general statement about this site that covers far more than page formatting... --TrueGrit 00:47, 20 March 2007 (EDT)

Thanks

I'll trust you on that one. You probably saved me from myself.Palmd001 23:52, 21 March 2007 (EDT)

What pages are protected at the moment?

Some of those pages, listed as protected, are only protected against un-registered users, FYI. --~ TerryK Talk2Me! 04:47, 23 March 2007 (EDT)

I don't want to speak too soon, but I just blocked the proxy IP that this user was editing from (an AOL proxy). So, I want to wait for a few minutes and see if the IP block worked. --Hojimachongtalk 15:42, 24 March 2007 (EDT)

Authority and community

You make a perceptive and interesting comment. And in the spirit of Sunir Shah's observations, I'd like to comment on it:

The entire enterprise rests on Andrew Schlafly, he doesn't just set the direction for the site, he is the direction for the site. He is the first option for an appeal, the last word on policy, the only view that matters is Andrew's view. A site that so relies on the influence of one man is not the work of a community.

I came over from Wikipedia and have made half a dozen policy proposals, all of which have been accepted. I regard this as 'community input'. I've also sought out users who seemed at first to be causing trouble, and persuaded (some of) them to change direction and stick around to help with the project. I don't believe in the 'infinite ban' technique.

I welcome your views, such as your most recent comment on Andy's user talk page:

That's funny. I thought this site was supposed to not have a liberal bias, not have a conservative bias. Please tell me, why exactly is this site here? [2]

I agree with this criticism completely. I have not the slightest interest in replacing one bias with another. My latest proposed policy is Conservapedia:Neutrality. --Ed Poor 14:35, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Bias

  • ed, I'm sure you know though that even if every fact is attributed to a source, if those sources are all promoting the same agenda, the article will be biased towards that agenda. Myk 11:56, 31 March 2007

Not sure if there's any point in pursuing this, because you didn't answer my comment above, but here goes, anyway:

You are connecting agenda with bias in a general way. I'm not sure I follow that.

I do agree, however, that if (1) only one side of an argument is given, then (2) it is easy to give the impression that it is a sound argument. Is that what you were talking about? --Ed Poor 11:05, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

messages

I'm new to the world of Wiki; I only started to be a liberal voice in this. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to private message people? Thanks. --TrueGrit 21:24, 4 April 2007 (EDT)

Ad hominem attacks

Regarding me you said, "You seem to have a pretty poor understanding of the way language and cognitive science work."

Please avoid ad hominem attacks. You have no idea of my level of understand of anything, much less my understand of language or cognitive science. I don't mind debating you. I don't care if you disagree with me. I respect people who have well-thought out positions whether they agree with me or not. But debate is not productive or constructive when it devolves into name calling. I will report personal attacks if they continue. Everwill 14:24, 5 April 2007 (EDT)
