Rex
Why did you block Rex? Not mad but just wondering. --Will N. 13:44, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
- A bit of proactive observation. His user page read:
As of 4/19/2007 I am now trying to see what the most innocuous comment is that can get me banned without any warning for an indeterminate amount of time. Check above to see that last time it was for "George W. Bush was born in Connecticut." It nearly happened again last week for pointing out the error in Ashlafley's math that had him saying that the Wikipedia is 108% liberal, which is mathematically impossible. Lot of ban-threats for pointing out his error, but never happened. Lets see what it'll take this time. Who wants to start a pool?
5/8/2007 Its about to happen because I asked why facts were removed and discussion blocked. Watch for it. Update - False Alarm, turned out to be another in a long line of empty threats. I get the sense they wish they had a legitimate reason to ban me and keep trying to make one up. Becoming clear though that the idea of creating a Wiki where you can actually control all the content in order to maintain a consistant (to say nothing of misleading or false) narrative is getting to be too much to handle for Aschlafly and crew. I await the coming implosion with the purest of relish.
Not the kind of editor we'd like to keep around here, eh? JustineA --sysop--talk 13:47, 18 May 2007 (EDT) Nope and did you block Flippin? And what about AmesG?--Will N. 13:51, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
- No, they were blocked indefinitely by TK a few days ago when I did not have sysop status. JustineA --sysop--talk 13:52, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
By the way how did you gain a sysops status? You didn't win the competition. --Will N. 13:56, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
No, I did not, however I was a sysop back in March. I gave up the position due to other commitments and so I left the project (returning only for a couple of edits here and there to revert vandalism). When I returned earlier this month, I expressed interest to become a sysop again. I guess my efforts as a sysop in March proved that I was worthy to be handed the administrative tools. To be honest, I do edit here and there around here, but I am focussed on reverting vandalism and the actual sysop duties so this place runs smoothly. JustineA --sysop--talk 14:01, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
- Will, let me jump in here (excuse me, Justine!) and repeat what I have told you before, in other places: I do not block users for disagreements with me. Blocks are not done lightly, and not without consulting with Andy. Oftentimes there are reasons not totally apparent to users, and never will be, for a block. ColinR was was removed as a Sysop by Andy, then blocked by another. Andy had his reasons, and I respect those. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 18:02, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
One other technical detail
Some of you guys have customised signatures. Is there a way to automate this or is it a cut n paste job? (Boring sig to follow!)Fantomas 14:34, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
- Firstly, you have to tick the "Raw signatures" checkbox, and then use tags such as subscript (use tags), or color tag such as Colour! (<font color="#4d4d4d"></font>)
- Try things out in your sandbox and then copy/paste into your signature field in Preferences. JustineA --sysop--talk 14:42, 18 May 2007 (EDT)

Username
It's not to annoy anyone, but may I know how I'm supposed to contribute if my first choice of a user name is refused and the following blocked for not being the first? I've so far logged in once under "Emptiness", then before I could do my intended correction, blocked, reason given "silly user name". I choose "SillyGirl", which was I admit partly provocative, out of a tinge of anger... Blocked anew. Then, I chose "WhyNot", which you blocked because it's not my main account (but so far the only one which name seemed acceptable). I'm beginning to run out of imagination for user names. Would you perchance have a suggestion as to how to resolve this quandary? SingleUse 11:39, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
- Checkuser tells me that your other account are those shared by blocked accounts. JustineA --sysop--talk 11:41, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
- Yes. As I've just explained, my first account was blocked, reason given "silly user name", before I could edit with it. My second and third have been blocked for being "sockies". I fail to see why I'm now blocked under both "WhyNot" or "Emptiness" (none of which made even remotely suspicious edits). I'm not a vandal. It's not that I care all that much, but the nonsense of it all strikes me as sad for your site. SingleUse 11:49, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
- One of your blocks is reasoned with "Account shared by IP with User:JohnsonH" - who has been blocked for a week. I can only assume that you're one of that user's sockpuppets. JustineA --sysop--talk 11:51, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
- I'm sorry that you blocked without asking me at least. I'm not "User:JohnsonH". This is the first time I've heard of him/her. My user names are "Emptiness" (no edit), "SillyGirl" (one edit on the talk page of "France") and "WhyNot" (one edit on the talk page of Ed Poor, to complain about the blocks), none more (this one, SingleUse, I don't intend to use past the resolution of this problem, whatever it is). What could I do to convince you of it? Check User is a tool giving useful informations, not a magic wand giving absolute proof. I don't do this only for me (I don't really care, as I said), but also for this "User:JohnsonH", who risks being saddled with deeds not his/her own. SingleUse 12:06, 19 May 2007 (EDT)
- Could I expect at least the courtesy of an answer, even if negative ? SingleUse 12:55, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- Your time spent here will be substantiated by your next edits. At one point, you did have more than one account here which is not allowed at Conservapedia. JustineA --sysop--talk 16:02, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- Could I expect at least the courtesy of an answer, even if negative ? SingleUse 12:55, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- You need to try and understand not all of us are living where you are. "Niandra" lives in Australia, where it is currently 4:00 AM, Monday morning, in relation to Pacific Standard Time (U.S.) where I am. So, it seems you do have more than one user account. Which one of those would you like to keep? --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 14:03, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- I am fully aware that not everyone has to share my hours, which is why I waited quietly 24h and checked that Niandra had worked on Conservapedia some more after my last message. At no point did I had more than one account active. My word on it. If possible, I would prefer to have my first pick, "Emptiness". If not, then "WhyNot". My other accounts, all of which are listed above in my first message, can of course stay blocked. You can also block this one, "SingleUse", for I have no intention of using it if I can do otherwise. SingleUse 16:40, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- I was unaware that Ed had blocked your Emptiness account, hence why I thought you were using SillyGirl as a sock account. JustineA --sysop--talk 16:45, 20 May 2007 (EDT)
- While I appreciate your answer, I'd appreciate even more to be unblocked under either "Emptiness" or "WhyNot". Regards, SingleUse 05:17, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
- What do I have to do to have one of my first picks as usernames ? I didn't intend to use this username, but if none other is available, I'll probably just go on. Still wondering why my first choices were so wrong. I don't mind making mistakes, but not understanding what they are prevents me from any improvement. SingleUse 12:30, 22 May 2007 (EDT)
- I've just unblocked your Emptiness account. You probably should have asked Ed Poor to unblock the account since he was the one to block you. JustineA --sysop--talk 14:06, 22 May 2007 (EDT)
- When I complained using another username (maybe a bit agressively, but he just blocked me for no reason before my very first edit, and I was then a bit angered), you reverted me. I can be stubborn, I'm not bent on edit wars. Well, thanks all the same for the unblocking part. Emptiness 16:05, 22 May 2007 (EDT)

I've come across quite a few images that have been put into use here that have no information listed in their summary. I was under the impression that some sort of description of the source should be placed there in order to verify that it is public domain. And I've also noticed a lot of these images are on protected status, so even if someone wants to come back and fill in the info they can't. signature adding
Dear Niandra
I noticed you added my name to my talk post about the ideology chapter of the German CDU, which i forgot. Thanks for that. Sometimes the bar with the signature button does not show up and then I easily forget it. Any idea, what that may cause?
Regarding the ideology chapter of the CDU, my post was a mild form of what I actually think. I suspect that what is there is one of the more subtle forms of vandalism, but i am not completely sure. I hope that my post starts a discussion, showing whether this is the case or not.

Hey I don't think you should of deleted it. Someone might want to actually make the page and not copy and paste from Wikipedia.--Will N. 12:22, 24 May 2007 (EDT)

- There's no point leaving blank pages around the place. I did not have any idea of what to put on the page, so I simply deleted it because it was slab plagiarism off Wikipedia. If a user has something to add to the article, they can create a section on it whenever they like, but for the moment, I don't see why leaving it blank is the way to go.
