RobS comments
- Scorpio, I have analyzed all your editing here at CP, and thus far you have convinced me of absolutely nothing. RobS 16:24, 7 June 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, I'm not sure what the point of your comments were on my Discussion page. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. What exactly is your point? I'm pretty new here so there is no body of work that you can look at. Can you further elaborate on your comments? I just finished adding some new names to the section in the McCarthy article retitled, "VENONA files & Other Security/Loyalty Risks". There's still lots of work to be done, including listing everything alphabetically and creating separate articles for the new entries. Let me know if you like the work. And, please, use the "+" tab to add new topics on my Discussion page next time. Thank you. Scorpio 21:57, 7 June 2007 (EDT)

mediation
I think that brief mention should go in the intro with full information in another section. Geo.Complain! 23:13, 12 July 2007 (EDT)
- I agree 100%. The disturbing thing is that Rob removed this from the intro paragraph:
- He was noted for claiming and subsequently proving that there were large numbers of Communists and Soviet spies and sympathizers inside the federal government.
- It was fine the way it was but Rob changed it without discussion. I have no problem changing to what you suggested. How should we proceed? Do you want to make the change or me or Rob? Your call. Scorpio 23:21, 12 July 2007 (EDT)
Andrew Roth
Hey, what do you kow about Andrew Roth? This is an extremely difficult article I've been working on for years, and my original WP version was deleted (1 of only 5 or 6). That original article, as small as it was, was still highly problematic. Care to collaborate? RobS 15:59, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, unfortunately, I probably know less than you already know about this guy. I found this article that may help you in your research. Scorpio 17:19, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- Yes, this one in interesting for several reasons. The Amerasia case, his career in Britain, and he worked for ONI. Naval Intelligence is supposedly the only intelligence organization that was not penetrated, yet Nigel West & others cite Roth as a KGB boy. RobS 17:31, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- Does the article I listed help at all? Why did your info get erased from WP? Scorpio 17:41, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- I had to use Internet Archive on Venona Progeny, new secrecy regulations restrict access to the Naval War College Review. That cite helps on Roth, and brings his career close to the current decade, but it's not really the Guardian, and appears somewhat biased or scandalous.
- The Amerasia affair really is the background on what motivated McCarthy. These guys got arrested, and the Truman Administration covered it all up. McCarthy even cites it in his Conspiracy so black speech, how J. Edgar had all the evidence and was ready to go, but the prosecutors in the Truman Justice Dept did nothing. Then, in 1948 when a Grand Jury was empanelled after Bentley's story went public, Roth skips town to avoid indictment. Lives happily ever after in London as a credible journalist digging up dirt on British MPs. The guy may even still be alive. RobS 17:59, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, that site is the archive of the Telegraph so it's fine. I would be happy to work with you on the Roth article. I've got to go out for a while so if you want to start, go ahead and I'll join you a little later. Why did WP wipe out all history of your Roth article?
- Also, what do you want to do about the Progeny link? Do you have a copy of what that article said? If so, we can add an inline quote of the relevant info right into the McCarthy article, assuming it's a small amount of info about McCarthy. Let me know. Thank you. Scorpio 18:08, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- There has been a cabal of conspirators in WP to undo my work since day one; several articles have been nominated for deletion repeatedly, but only about 6 small articles of 300 total ever got deleted, and few were even recreated afterword. This Roth artcle, though small, was one such deleted. And it was extremely problematic back then when I wrote it, cause I think the guy's still alive. That's probably why it got deleted, and now has been recreated, making no mention of Amerasia.
Business plot
- I'm proud to say though, several very qualified editors have greatly improved and expanded the area of early Cold War history from the sorry condition it was in when I started. Look at this one for example,
- In the 1990s scholars discovered documents in the Moscow archives showing Dickstein was paid $1250 a month from 1937 to early 1940 by the NKVD, the Soviet spy agency, which hoped to get secret Congressional information of anti-Communist and pro-fascist forces. When Dickstein left the Committee the Soviets dropped him from the payroll.[1] No historian has disputed the evidence....Dickstein later served as a Justice on the New York State Supreme Court... [1]
- This leads to another area we should discuss, the so-called "Business Plot" (we should consider a different name than WP's before starting the article). Lookee here [2]. The problem with this article is, both Dickestein and Spivak were commie spies! And both were commie spies precisely at the time this article was written! And according to this article, Democrartic Presidential Nominees Al Smith and John Davis are fascists!
- Imagine the contrast between what we could do with this historic event, WP's sad and putrid retelling of it! RobS 18:27, 14 July 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, I remember some info about the "Business Plot" from a few years ago but had forgotten all about it until you just brought it up. Yes, you're right about doing an article about that as well. As for WP, you are right about a cabal of "editors" who do everything they can to stop verifiable and truthful info regarding communists in govt. from being discussed. That was one of the main reasons I came to CP. Scorpio 17:02, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
<-- WP says,
- The Business Plot, The Plot Against FDR, or The White House Putsch, was an uncovered conspiracy involving several wealthy businessmen to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt... Butler testified before the McCormack-Dickstein Committee in 1934 [1]. In his testimony, Butler claimed that a group of several men had approached him as part of a plot to overthrow Roosevelt in a military coup [3]... names as Al Smith... were said to be the financial and organizational backbone of the plot.[4]...Spivak, researching Nazism and anti-Semitism for New Masses magazine, got permission from Dickstein to examine HUAC's public documents and was (it seems unwittingly) given the unexpurgated testimony amid stacks of other papers. Spivak's ...relevant material was embellished with overblown aspersions against "Jewish financiers working with fascist groups" -- a mishmash of guilt-by-association that connected Morgan interests with Jewish financier Felix Warburg, HUAC, and certain members of the American Jewish Committee.[5]....
- OK, so what is really going on here? Dickstein & Spivak are both commie spies. Al Smith, former DNC Presidential Candidate from the election just before FDR got elected, and whom FDR was his VP running mate, is supposedly a fascist. The Committee has hearings, chaired by a commie spy, impugns critics of the New Deal as fascists. Commie spies in the commie press smear loyal Democrats who are also New Deal critics as rich capitalistic bankers & fascists, accuse the gubmint of corruption & coverup (done so by thier own commie on the committee), and make an appeal to the masses why (a) the US Government doesn't work because its corrupt, (b) rich evil doers oppose economic planning and the New Deal (c) Stalin, the KGB, and underground Communist Party have effectively taken over the New Deal Democratic Coalition, and they don't have room for oldtime Democrats and non-New Dealers like Al Smith and John Davis. RobS 17:46, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, this would be funny if it weren't so scary and so true. Scorpio 18:19, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- WP says, Al Smith, Roosevelt's political foe....said to be the financial and organizational backbone of the plot [6]
- WP American Liberty League says, a U.S. organization formed in 1934 by conservative Democrats such as Al Smith (the 1928 Democratic presidential nominee),...the League labeled Roosevelt's Agricultural Adjustment Administration "a trend toward Fascist control of agriculture." [7]
- Then Spivak calls Smith a fascist [8] and accuses the Government of covering up a fascist plot to overthrow the government. And of course he specifically accuses his KGB bloodbrother, KGB agent Samuel Dickstein of covering up for the fascists.
- Yes, there certainly was a conpsiracy here, a commie plot against "conservative Democrats," and to see who would have the last word on calling who a fascist. Most importantly, the playing to the press and media about "rich bankers" and corrupt polticians, for which Stalin & the CPUSA had all the answers and solutions. RobS 18:37, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- Incredible stuff. Are you going to get an article in place about this topic? You're one of the few people with enough info who could write this thing. Also, nice work on the "America's Retreat from Victory" link. I alphabetically listed it and added it to the references for you. Scorpio 19:02, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- Rob, so what is your conclusion about this whole "Business Plot"? What do you think this was all about? Was Butler nuts? Scorpio 20:29, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- This is gonna take some more time. I tend to be very thorough and leave no stone unturned. But I have a big hunch, the CP version could look quite different than the WP. RobS 21:25, 15 July 2007 (EDT)
- Ok, that's fine with me. You do great research work so I'm sure you'll get it right but in the meantime, what is a summation of what this was all about? Was Butler lying, crazy, etc.? Was there really some crazy plot? What do you think? Scorpio 21:46, 15 July 2007 (EDT)

mcCarthy
Leave the additions or propsed substitutions on my talk page and i can merge them. Geo.Complain! 00:44, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
- Geo, one thing that would be great is if changes and edits to the McCarthy article be limited to those done by SysOps. Which would require me to ask if someone would please elevate me to that level. Any thoughts on that? Scorpio 13:49, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
Whatever became of......
Scorpio? --şŷŝoρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 06:58, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks for asking, TK. It's good to hear from you. :) Actually the McCarthy page was locked for some reason and since I wasn't a SysOp, I would have to get approval to add any further information. Rob and I had made the McCarthy page the definitive source on the internet for accurate information regarding Senator McCarthy. Conservapedia recently honored our work by making it the article of the month. And, sadly, after all my work, I was relegated to having to get approval for any additional work. Since that seemed like just another hassle and since there was no apparent interest in making me a SysOp or giving me the ability to add info without going through such trouble, I thought it best to turn my attention to other matters.
- I still think there's about 100 hours work worth of additional info that needs to be added to the article and to related articles. I wished Rob continued success on his tireless work on Communist subversion in govt. and bowed out of the picture. No hard feelings toward anyone and I was glad to have the opportunity to contribute to Conservapedia. Also, thanks to you for your guidance. I greatly appreciate it. All my best. Scorpio 19:14, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
- TK, as usual, you have an uncanny ability to say and do the right things to make someone feel good about themselves and their efforts. That's a rare quality and distinction and it's an honor to know someone with these fine attributes. Thank you for your kind words. Should my schedule change to allow for free time once again, I will contact you for advice on how to proceed so as to be of the greatest service to this wonderful encyclopedia and assist in any project where you may decide I can assist you. Best Regards. Scorpio 22:14, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
