As both were heavily influenced by the works of Charles Darwin and the "Theory of Natural Selection", it is thought that these men's regimes were aimed at wiping out those they percieved as unfit to survive (Those unfit to live). Proponents of this theory on their goals cite both men's heavy atheistic beliefs as a heavy influence on their rather pragmatic views on human life and worth.
