Walter Payton

Walter Jerry Payton (July 25. 1954 -- November 1, 1999) was a Hall of Fame running for the Chicago Bears. Nicknamed "Sweetness", he is considered by many to be the greatest running back in NFL history. Payton was known not just for his ability to run the ball but also to receive and pass. He still holds or held at one point the record for most rushing yards (16,726 yards), yards from scrimmage(21,624 yards), all-purpose yards, (21,803 yards), rushing touchdowns (110), passing yards of a non-quarterback (331 yards) and most passing touchdowns of a non-quarterback (8).
