Wesley Britt is a National Football League offensive tackle for the New England Patriots. He was born on November 21, 1981 in Cullman, Alabama. He is the tallest Patriots player at "6-8" and weighs 320 pounds.

College Football Career

From 2000 to 2005 Wesley Britt attended the University of Alabama. He started 46 games at tackle for the Crimson Tide (UA college football team).... Missed most of the 2003 season due to a broken leg. Played through pain throughout his career at Alabama. He was named to the 2004 SEC good Works Team.

NFL career

In 2005 the San Diego Chargers drafted Britt in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He was cut by San Diego towards the end of the 2005 training camp but signed with the New England Patriots a day later. Due to his impressing the Patriots coaches with his potential - he was signed to the New England practice squad and stayed on it the entire 2005 season. In 2006 he made his first NFL start in week three of the NFL season vs the Cincinnati Bengals. He was off and on the inactive list for the 2006 season but he did appeared in 10 games mostly on special teams.[1]

On April 4, 2007, the Patriots resigned Britt to a contract.[2]


Patriots linebacker Eric Alexander named Britt in a behind the scenes article as the Patriots player he would least like to have shoot a basketball with a game on the line.[3]
