World History Homework 4 Leonard G

1.) My favorite Roman emperor was Julius Caesar. He was one of history’s greatest military leaders. His flawless tactics allowed him to expand the Roman Republic to great depths. After fifty-six years of amazing leadership, he was murdered by his closest friends in a conspiracy set up by the Roman Senate.

Did he lead for 56 years? No, he lived 56 years. But your answer is otherwise good. (Minus 1).

2.) The Roman Republic (509 B.C. – 27 B.C.) was when Rome was ruled under a republic form of government. When Augustus took the throne, the Roman Empire (27 B.C. - A.D. 456) began. The Roman Empire was a time when Rome was strictly ruled by its emperors.

Excellent.

3.) The Roman Empire and the Byzantine Empire were once part of the same state and shared their resources and government until Rome’s emperor Diocletian decided to split off from Byzantine. The Byzantine emperor, Constantine, was a great ruler with a strong Christian faith. Byzantium is known for starting the Eastern Orthodox Church and for its Greek philosophy.

Constantine is more commonly referenced as a Roman emperor. Otherwise good.

4.) Language is a very important part of a civilization. It enabled peace, government, the spread of idea, and prosperity. Latin was Rome’s jewel. It enabled complex concepts to be explained simply. Latin was such a great language, that it is even used today in science and law.

Superb, may use as a model!

5.) Pax Romana was a time of peace and prosperity in Rome from 27 B.C. to 180 A.D.

Correct.

6.) Rome’s economic crisis reminds me a lot of the economic crisis happening today. The debt the United States has today is huge. Instead of solving problems by loaning money, the United States creating more, small holes that we need to plug before they all become one big hole and causes our downfall.

Right.

7.) a.) I believe that all of the world history we have learned so far was God paving the way for Jesus. I have a strong faith in God and believe that everything, good or bad, happens for a reason. If God never protected us, the world would have been destroyed within seconds from creation. The Devil has no control over God’s plan, ever.

Terrific!
Great insights. 69/70. Well done!--Andy Schlafly 13:27, 3 March 2009 (EST)
