Zork III
From Conservapedia
Zork III: The Dungeon Master is the final game in the Zork trilogy. It begins where Zork II left off.
Plot
The player begins at the bottom of the Endless Stair from Zork II.
The game is much less of a treasure hunt than the two predecessors. Rather than collecting treasures, the player must become the second Dungeon Master. In order to accomplish this, the adventurer must knock at the Dungeon Master's door wearing and carrying several things:
A golden amulet (found at the bottom of the lake)
A strange key (found in the Key Room above the Aqueduct using the Frobozz Magic Grue Repellent from Zork II)
A cloak and hood (taken from the Hooded Figure in the Land of Shadow when the player looks under the hood rather than kill him)
A royal ring (found back in time in the Royal Museum using the " Temporizer")
A book of lore (found in the Royal Puzzle)
A plain wooden staff (given to you by the Man on the Cliff after he opens the chest you found)
There is a time-sensitive event, unlike Zork I and Zork II, an earthquake which is triggered 110-130 moves into the game. The key must be taken before the earthquake, when the aqueduct breaks, and the book and ring must be recovered after it, when the Great Door breaks.
After obtaining all the items, the player must give the elderly man the bread to learn the entrance to the final area. Using either the Mirror Box or the invisibility potion (found when the player says "hello, sailor" to the Viking), the player gets past the Guardians of Zork to knock on the door. After the Dungeon Master admits him, he tells the adventurer that he will obey the adventurer's commands. Then, using the dial with eight numbers, the adventurer summons the cell with the bronze door and return it to the original position. The strange key will now unlock the door, which contains all the treasure of Zork and a share in FrobozzCo International.
