Revision as of 04:35, September 1, 2007
I feel like this article should have more. Ya know get down to the nitty gritty of why sex before marriage is wrong. I did a thesis on this subject in College, I'll try to pull it out. I just think what we have in...insufficient. I realize we want to keep kids away from the big, bad, scary talk of genitals and what not. But, ya know, how about some horror stories of what happens to people who have premarital sex. And contain that study, I know it's slightly "off"...but the one that says condoms don't work 15% of the time. I should be able to find a link on one of the Christian blogs or something. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by FactorX (talk)

Sexual Intercourse
Sexual Intercourse is an act fundamental to all living creatures of complex natures. Religion teaches us that it is a gift from God that is not to be squandered, misused, or done in excess. Sex, while a part of our nature, is a private part of our nature, not to be shared, discussed or flaunted in public. However some chose to do so. This behavior often is said to lead to sexual deviancy, such as pedophilia, rape and even the inflection of STDs (sexual transmitted diseases).
There are several reasons why a human couple would engage in sexual acts.
- Love: Love is considered the highest form of sexual relations. Love occurs when a man and woman, in marriage express themselves intimately in the privacy of their marital bed. While some critics and Liberal advocates of "free love" may say this claim is false, most Americans agree that premarital sex is wrong[1].
- Lust: Lust occurs when a man and woman, or people of the same gender, engage in sexual acts outside of marriage for pure pleasure. Under the confines of lust people put themselves at risk. Premarital sex falls under the category of high risk behavior[2]. These types of activities can result in sexual deviancy. Later on in life those who engage in lustful acts may experience tendencies to look at porn, engage in homosexual behavior, or even break laws in regards to sex.
- Reproduction: Humans have a natural tendency, hardwired into their brains to engage in sex for the purpose of reproduction. The Bible teaches that this was given to us by God so that we could "be fruitful and multiply" and fill the Earth. For this reason any birth, no matter where it occurs, or under what circumstances is sacred, because it is life. Many Liberals attempt to stifle reproduction with Abortion and agencies devoted to promoting "protected" sex.
"Protected" Sex
Some critics of "Abstinence Only" education cite that sex can occur under "protected" or controlled circumstances.
However, a study done in 2001 found with this formula:
(6.7-0.9)/6.7 = 0.85
That condoms were only 85% effective at preventing HIV, leaving a 15% chance of contracting the disease [3]. Proving yet again that the only way to be sure is abstinence only education, since teenagers can easily be made not to have sex in a coed environments of our High Schools and Colleges.
Some Liberals will claim the math used to obtain those numbers is faulty. However, as shown the number indeed comes to 85%, a sobering statistic for anyone considering "protected" sex.
