Bobby Rush, born November 23, 1946 (age 79), is a congressman from the South Side of Chicago. He supported Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's nomination of Roland Burris to the U.S. Senate in December 2008, after President-Elect Barack Obama vacated that seat.
As an incumbent, Bobby Rush defeated Barack Obama by more than a 2-1 margin in the primary in 2000.[1]
