Abd al-Azrad

Abd al-Azrad (700? AD-738 AD), also known as Abdul Alhazred, was a creation of the weird-fiction author Howard Philips Lovecraft. Lovecraft named al-Azrad as the author of the Kitab Al-Azif, the Arabic translation of the equally fictional Necronomicon, in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, or "Yog-Sothothery", series of stories. Abd al-Azred was the pseudonym created by Lovecraft originally as a child during a period of infatuation with the 1001 Arabian Nights.[1][2][3][4][5]
