AdS/CFT (Anti-de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory) Correspondence or Holographic duality is a conjecture by Princeton University physicist, Juan Maldacena, which states that a quantum field theory defined on the conformal boundary of an anti-de Sitter space M is equivalent to a quantum gravity theory defined in the interior of M.

The AdS/CFT Correspondence can explain the temperature and evaporation of a black hole through Hawking radiation in the interior of an anti-de Sitter space M as caused by the interaction of elementary particles on the conformal boundary of M.
