The Andromeda Galaxy is a Spiral Galaxy similar to the Milky Way, and situated within the same Galactic Cluster.

It appears to be situated about 2.5 million light years from the Milky Way, meaning that the light from it that we see now must have left about 2.5 million years ago, giving rise to the starlight problem. It is on a collision course with the Milky Way.Template:Fact-scientific Luckily, since galaxies are mostly empty space, galactic collision damage is fairly low.Template:Fact-scientific
