Template:StubArmistice Day was November 11, 1918. It was the day that World War I combat was ended with the signing of an armistice, at eleven AM (during the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the year nineteen eighteen). The war officially ended on June 28, 1919, with the Treaty of Versailles [1]. The armistice was signed by the Allies and the Central Powers in France. The Germans were laid with the heavy burden of repaying the Allies (mostly Britain and France). They had to pay them a reparation of 30 million dollarscitation needed in a appointed amount of time. Germany was required to regulate army sizecitation needed. Reparation payments and resentment, along with economic instability caused by the United States stock market crash in 1929, among other things, allowed political instability that led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. Thus laying the seeds for World War II.
