Work History

Barbara Walters began her television career as a writer at NBC on "The Today Show" in 1961, becoming the program's first female co-host in 1974.[3]


In 1976 she co-anchored the ABC Evening News with Harry Reasoner, making her the first female news anchor.[4] From 1979 to 2004 she worked for ABC on the TV show 20/20.[5]


Currently (2007) she is co-owner and co-executive producer of the ABC TV show "The View" which she also co-hosts when time permits.[6]
