Black Tuesday was the follow up to Black Thursday five days earlier. While Black Thursday sent the stock market reeling, it was Black Tuesday that dealt the knockout blow that was a harbinger to the Great Depression. More shares were traded on Black Tuesday than on any previous day in market history.
