Edwin Lord Weeks (Boston, 1849 - 1903) was an American painter and explorer. He is considered a distinguish painter of oriental scenes and a celebrated American Orientalist. He wrote and illustrated a book of travels From the Black Sea through Persia and India (1895, about his voyages to the East), and later Episodes of Mountaineering.
