An '''Electric Car''' is a type of car that runs on electricity. Because it runs on electricity it is a zero emission car, a car that doesn't produce pollution at the point of use. It is probable that some type of fossil fuel would have been used to generate the electricity in the first place, in some cases all the electric car really does is move the pollution somewhere else;however many of the citizens that use the electric car  also use resources that do not produce pollution as a source of power e.g. solar, wind, and water power.

An electric car has not yet been made that is safer than many of the gas alternatives, however it does not need gas so it pays for itself and is environmentally friendly. Some could parallel the electric car to a hydrogen powered car, though the technology for a hydrogen powered car is not yet refined to the point in which it can be mass produced. Electric cars are not currently mass produced.

An electric car is a type of car that runs on electricity. Because it runs on electricity it is a zero emission car, a car that doesn't produce pollution at the point of use. It is probable that some type of fossil fuel would have been used to generate the electricity in the first place, in some cases all the electric car really does is move the pollution somewhere else.

Coal power still accounts for 39% of America's electricity power. This means that electric vehicles will still be responsible for producing CO₂. In these states, a traditional car has less of an impact to the environment.[2]
