Evolutionary biology careers are career paths within the scientific community which do not advance empirical science and instead promote the secular religion of Darwinism. The creation scientists at Creation Ministries International points out in their Question evolution! campaign that evolutionary biology is a religion and it has yet to achieve any scientific breakthroughs.[1][2]

Creation Ministries International on their 15 questions for evolutionists online resource declares concerning the pseudoscience of evolutionary biology:

Karl Popper, famous philosopher of science, said “Darwinism is not a testable scientific theory, but a metaphysical [religious] research programme ….” Michael Ruse, evolutionist science philosopher admitted, “Evolution is a religion. This was true of evolution in the beginning, and it is true of evolution still today.” If “you can’t teach religion in science classes”, why is evolution taught?[3]

Regarding the unproductivity of evolutionary biologists, Creation Ministries International states on their 15 questions for evolutionists online resource:

Dr Marc Kirschner, chair of the Department of Systems Biology, Harvard Medical School, stated: “In fact, over the last 100 years, almost all of biology has proceeded independent of evolution, except evolutionary biology itself. Molecular biology, biochemistry, physiology, have not taken evolution into account at all.”[4]

Employment outlook for evolutionary biologists

The job prospects of evolutionary biologists is currently unpromising. According to The Atlantic, approximately 19% of PhDs in the life sciences were employed in 2011.[5] The demand for PhDs in the life sciences has been falling since at least 2001.[6]

In the Western World and in the world at large, with many local/federal governments and higher education institutions facing fiscal challenges, the future of this career path will remain unfavorable for the foreseeable future. In addition, global atheism/agnosticism has been shrinking and this trend is an established trend that is expected to accelerate so the demand for evolutionary biologists will continue to be low. Since World War II a majority of the most prominent and vocal defenders of the evolutionary position which employs methodological naturalism have been atheists (see also: Causes of evolutionary belief)[7]

Furthermore, global creationism is growing rapidly and the field of creation science has expanded since its inception.[8] Henry Morris is largely credited with being the father of the modern creation science movement. Also, creationism is growing in many Western World countries.[9]

Conservative commentary on evolutionary biologists

Vox Day wrote concerning evolutionary biologists:

How seriously can you possibly take people who are dumb enough to spend more than seven years and go into serious student loan debt in order to have a less than one in five chance at getting a job doing what they've studied for? And since the chart goes back to 1991, these scientific geniuses don't even have the excuse of claiming that they had no way of knowing that there was no significant employment demand for their highly educated services.

If you ever wondered why the Pharyngulans seemed unusually bitter for a blog readership, even a heavily atheist one, the chart above explains why.[10]
