Food additives and addiction
Food additives are used to enhance the flavor and appearance of food. There is a popular myth that many common additives in fact cause an addiction, leading to obesity, cancer, and numerous other health risks. However the most harmful food enhancers usually are voluntarily removed by companies after social and economic pressure builds from affected consumers. For example, in the early days, Coca-Cola contained cocaine, a highly addictive drug. After consumers complained that adults and especially children should not be exposed to cocaine, the addictive drug was removed from the ingredients list.
Many types of readymade food, especially Chinese food, use the possibly addictive flavor enhancer MSG (monosodium glutamate). Even though it is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration (the agency which regulates the usage of such additives in the United States), MSG has been implicated as a cause autism and ADHD in children, as well as many other ailments. Liberals have used scare tactics to say that MSG is omnipresent in the US food supply and using big "scientific" words to characterize normal behavior as exceptional, in an example of coordinated liberal deceit. An example of such tactics is:
|“|| How would you feel when you learn the food industry hides and disguises these excitotoxin additives (MSG and Aspartate) so they can't be recognized? Incredulous? Enraged? The fact is many foods are labeled as having "No MSG" but in fact not only contain MSG but also are laced with other excitotoxins of equal potency and danger.
All of the above are true. And all of these well-known brain toxins are poured into our food and drink by the thousands of tons to boost sales. These additives have NO OTHER purpose other than to enhance to TASTE of food and the SWEETNESS of various diet products.
The fear-mongering and conspiracy theorizing are typical examples of the liberal agenda to overregulate every aspect of life, including food consumption. Foolish liberals do not realize that economic pressures often right any wrongs. For example, the perceived dangerous presence of MSG in Chinese food has compelled the Chinese to place large 'NO MSG' signs on their menus and doors, so that wary customers will continue their patronage.
Other food additives which liberals frequently bemoan include: aspartane, trans fats, and bovine growth hormone. Liberals have lobbied for strict government regulation of these substances, which in foods like donuts, are the source of their deliciousness and substitutes frequently become disflavored or inconsistent.
