Global warming skepticism is scientific opposition to the anthropogenic global warming theory (or AGW hypothesis), i.e., the idea that much or most of the last 100 years of global warming is caused by human activity. This skepticism has been branded as economically motivated at best, and has even been likened to Holocaust denial. Skeptics are almost always labeled as being paid by big oil companies.
