Human Events was founded as a conservative magazine in 1944. Its name comes from the opening of the Declaration of Independence: "When in the course of human events ..."

Eagle Publishing purchased Human Events and also a conservative book publisher, Regnery Publishing, Inc. Its current editors are Thomas S. Winter and Terence P. Jeffrey, and its prominent columnists include Robert Novak and Ann Coulter.

President Ronald Reagan would describe Human Events as his favorite newspaper.[1]
