Hyung Jin Moon

Hyung Jin Moon is the youngest and seventh son of Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Hak Ja Han Moon.

He was born in New York and received his BA from Harvard University and an MA from Harvard Divinity School. He studied and practiced Buddhism, adopting a shaved head and gray robes for several years before being appointed the international president of the Family Federation for World Peace and has been designated by his father as the person who will carry on his religious work. He is also highly skilled in martial arts, which he has practiced since he was young.

He and his wife, Yeon Ah Lee, live in Seoul, Korea, and have five children.[1]

North Korea

Rev. Hyung Jin Moon visited North Korea from December 9 to 16. After his return to Seoul, it was reported that Kim Jong-il had passed away on December 17 at the age of 69. The UPF Chairman returned to Pyongyang to pay his respects, laying a memorial wreath at the main mourning site in Kim Il-sung Square in front of a portrait of the late Kim Jong-il on December 24.
