"I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag" is an antiwar protest song written and performed by Country Joe MacDonald in response to the Vietnam War. His then-little-known group played the song at the 1969 Woodstock music festival, where over 500,000 people listened. This song represents how the protest music of the youth counterculture had become bitter and cynical, especially as compared to earlier antiwar songs like "Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan and "What the World Needs Now" by Hal David and Burt Bacharach.
