James A. Johnson (born December 24, 1943) is a Democratic political figure in the United States. He is best known for being the campaign manager for Walter Mondale's failed bid for the Presidency in 1984, and for being influential in the Vice-Presidential selection process for Democrats John Kerry and Barack Obama.
