Jerusalem
Jerusalem(Hebrew:יְרוּשָׁלַיִם (Arabic:أورشليم القدس) is the official capital of the country of Israel, although it is not recognised as such diplomatically outside of Israel. It is considered holy by Jews being their ancient capital and home of their most holy site, the temple mound, as well as Christians for its association with Christ and the Crucifixion, and Muslims as the location of the Dome of the Rock. Jerusalem was unified under Israeli control after the Six-Day War of 1967; it had, between Israeli independence in 1948 and 1967, been divided between Israeli west Jerusalem and east Jerusalem, part of the Jordanian-controlled West Bank.
